Equestrian Students at Ashley Mason Equestrian Build Fitness and Life Skills Year-Round

At Ashley Mason Equestrian in Fort Calhoun, young riders are maintaining year-round training that benefits both their physical fitness and mental well-being. Rider Willow Minshall highlights how the experience fosters a deep bond with her horse “Mister,” offering therapeutic calmness and personal growth that extends beyond riding skills. The program challenges students mentally and physically while teaching responsibility, communication, and life skills.

Owner Ashley Mason stresses that riding is only a small part of the program, which focuses heavily on building confidence, structure, time management, and leadership. The equestrian program serves as a healthy, developmental hobby with some participants aspiring to careers in related fields such as physical therapy, veterinary medicine, or training. Registration for spring and summer sessions is currently open.
