Edith May Glenn, aged 101, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Born in 1924 in Missouri, she married Earl J. Glenn in 1944, and together they farmed for over 55 years. Edith was deeply passionate about horses, known for her gentle touch and exceptional skill in training and competing with American Quarter Horses. She was an accomplished breeder and competitor at state fairs across several states and an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association. Her annual trips to the AQHA World Championship Show were a cherished tradition.
Beyond her equestrian achievements, Edith was a devoted family matriarch, known for her warmth, wisdom, and hospitality. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with siblings and many extended family members. Funeral services will be held on December 12, 2025, at Fremont Community Church in Iowa, with burial at Westview Cemetery in Kirkville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fremont Community Center.
