D’Lyla Todd Wins Top Honors at 2025 Brown County 4-H Horse Show

The 2025 Brown County Fair began with the Brown County 4-H Horse Show, held at the fairgrounds’ horse arena. The event serves as a qualifying competition for the state 4-H horse show, with riders in sixth grade and above earning qualification by winning blue ribbons. This year, the state show will take place in Cannon Falls due to renovations at the usual Minnesota State Fair Coliseum venue. The 4-H Horse Project also includes a horseless horse option, allowing participants to join even without owning a horse.

D’Lyla Todd, an eighth grader at Springfield High School, earned top honors in both the Pleasure Class and Game Class events, attributing her success to extensive practice and familiarity with riding. Other blue ribbon winners included Kenadi Wersal, Leah Kucera, Mia Walter, and Sydney Zarn. The show featured a strong group of young riders, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm and dedication to the 4-H horse program.
