Director General of Police Inaugurates National Equestrian Championship-2025 at PAP Campus, Jalandhar

The National Equestrian Championship-2025 (Tent Pegging) was inaugurated by DGP Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, at PAP Campus in Jalandhar. The championship, organized by Punjab Police, features 15 teams from various state Police Forces, CAPFs, Army, Navy, and private clubs, with 125 horses and top riders participating. The event will conclude on February 23, with an IPS officer qualifying for the championship for the first time.

The championship will see participation from 15 to 20 international players and will serve as a selection ground for the Indian team in international competitions during the 2025-26 period. DGP Yadav emphasized the importance of the event, celebrating skill, discipline, and tradition, and invited the public and horse lovers to witness the competition. This is the third edition of the championship to be held at PAP Campus, with the organizing committee headed by ADGP MF Farooqui and DIG Inderbir Singh.

In addition to the equestrian championship, Punjab Police is also hosting the T-20 under the All India Police Games and other contests like volleyball and kabaddi. DGP Yadav mentioned that the event aims to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and set new benchmarks in the tradition of horse riding. The Kabaddi Cluster is set to begin on March 9 this year, and when asked about the issue of US deportees, the DGP declined to comment.
