The Derajat festival in Dera Ismail Khan will begin on April 5 and run until April 20, 2025, showcasing the region’s cultural heritage, history, tourism, sports, and entertainment. The opening ceremony will feature exhibitions, parades, traditional dances, and various sports demonstrations, including wrestling, kabaddi, and off-road jeep challenges. The festival aims to promote peace and harmony while providing recreational opportunities and boosting the local economy.
Mela Aspan, the official event marking the start of the festival, will include traditional sports like tent pegging, horse shows, cattle parades, kabaddi matches, and wrestling. Throughout the festival, there will be off-road jeep shows, pet shows, national games, poetry sessions, art exhibitions, tree plantation campaigns, visits to historical sites, and other cultural and recreational activities. The Mina Bazaar, which has been active since Chand Raat, features cultural stalls, traditional food, and artistic performances.
This year’s Derajat festival is expected to attract a larger number of visitors than previous years, highlighting Dera Ismail Khan’s cultural significance and tourism potential.
