Class 9 Student Rides Horse to School Amid Vehicle Shortage in Solapur

Aadesh Salunkhe, a class 9 student from Vairag village in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, has adopted a unique mode of transportation to overcome the lack of vehicles for commuting to school—he rides a horse. Unlike his classmates who walk, cycle, or wait for buses, Aadesh uses one of his grandfather’s seven horses to travel to Sadhana School daily. Despite heavy traffic in the village market area, he steadily rides to school, where he takes care of the horse by feeding and watering it during breaks.

Aadesh’s unconventional commute has gained popularity on social media, with many praising his dedication to both horse riding and studies. The school principal emphasizes that the mode of transport is irrelevant compared to the student’s regular attendance and passion for learning. Aadesh himself highlights that horse riding is a skill he has known since childhood and uses it out of necessity due to the scarcity of buses, ensuring he never misses school.
