Mother’s Day celebrations in Clarksville and nearby areas featured a unique and entertaining event at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel: Corgi Races on the 5/8 mile harness racing track. Despite their small size and short legs, several energetic Corgis competed in multiple heats held between horse races, with some pups running off course while others stayed focused. The event attracted hundreds of spectators and dozens of canine participants, with winners receiving plaques and prizes.
The races were part of a larger day that included 13 horse races, four with $100,000 purses. Organizers expressed gratitude to attendees and announced that the first annual Charity Corgi Races raised $1,395 in donations for the Christian County Humane Society, making it a fun and meaningful community event.
