Centre Foundation has awarded $183,130 in Field-of-Interest grants to 41 local programs and projects across Centre County and nearby areas, funded by 22 donor-established endowments. These grants support a wide range of causes including health and human services, education, animal welfare, arts, and community support programs. Each year, nonprofits apply for funding which is carefully reviewed to ensure alignment with donor intent and community needs. The foundation’s president, David Lieb, emphasized that these funds transform donors’ hopes into tangible support for families, children, animals, and neighbors in need.
The 2025 grant awards span diverse initiatives such as faith-based camps, scholarships, farmland preservation, youth services, behavioral health programs, housing and food security, therapeutic riding, arts and music programs, and services for the hearing impaired. Notable recipients include The Seeing Eye ($19,374 for dog training), Centre Volunteers in Medicine ($36,340 for hearing aid assistance), and various local nonprofits addressing homelessness, mental health, and animal welfare. These grants reflect a broad commitment to improving quality of life and meeting critical needs throughout the Centre region.
