Celebrating Community and Commitment at the Boissevain 4-H Zone Rally

The Boissevain 4-H Zone Rally recently took place, featuring seven clubs from the Southwest 4-H Area, including Boissevain Beef, Boissevain Boots ‘n Bits, and the newly re-organized Killarney Beef Club, which returned after a 12-year hiatus. Event MC April Willis welcomed the Killarney Beef Club and noted the name change of the Coulter Western Trail Riders to Southwest Spurs & Saddles, reflecting their broader membership from various communities.

Participants showcased their skills in a parade, with awards for first and second place in categories such as FLOAT, MARCHING, and EQUINE. The winners included Boissevain Beef and Boissevain Home & Hobby in the FLOAT category, and Deloraine Community 4-Hers and Goodlands 4-H Variety in MARCHING.

The event emphasized the commitment of the 4-H members to the organization’s motto of “Learning to Do by Doing,” and acknowledged the vital role of parents and volunteer leaders in supporting the program. The 4-H Pledge, which highlights values of clear thinking, loyalty, service, and health, was also a focal point of the rally.
