Cat Rescue Charity Faces Closure Amid £30,000 Vet Bill Crisis

Jenny’s Cat House, a cat rescue charity in Hessle, East Yorkshire, has temporarily closed due to overwhelming veterinary bills exceeding £30,000. Since opening in 2023, founder Jenny Musgrave has rescued around 400 cats, many requiring medical care such as vaccinations, neutering, and microchipping. Despite grateful for existing support, the charity faces financial strain and may have to shut down permanently if additional funding is not secured.

Musgrave expressed heartbreak over turning away cats in need and emphasized the urgent need for sponsors and volunteers to help manage costs and care for the growing number of cats. She is currently considering reducing intake or increasing foster support to sustain the charity’s operations and continue serving the local cat community.
