Businessman Robert Heneghan, whose company Pro Sports Advice Ltd provides horseracing tips, is seeking a High Court injunction to stop Cork tipster Gearóid Norris from publishing allegedly defamatory online articles about him. Since March 2025, Norris has posted numerous abusive and defamatory statements across platforms like X, Substack, and TikTok, despite a cease and desist letter. Most recently, Norris published a false article claiming Heneghan threatened to kill him and his family, which Heneghan denies and says is damaging both personally and professionally.
Heneghan’s solicitors requested the removal of the false article and preservation of any recording of the alleged threatening call, but Norris refused and publicly shared the legal correspondence online. Norris also made conflicting statements about a threatening phone call on a racing forum, casting doubt on the existence of any evidence. The court has granted permission for expedited service of proceedings against Norris as Heneghan pursues legal action to address the defamatory publications.
