British Equestrian Federation Announces Teams for 2025 European Youth Championships

The British equestrian federation has announced its selected riders for the 2025 European Youth Championships, with full teams competing in the Children, Junior, Young Riders, and Under 25 divisions. The Children, Pony, and Junior Championships will be held in Le Mans, France, from July 28 to August 3, while the Young Riders and Under 25 Championships take place in Kronberg, Germany, from July 10 to 13. Despite a strong performance last year, British dressage has decided not to field a Pony team this year, focusing instead on development opportunities and additional training camps for young pony riders.

The selected teams feature promising combinations across the age groups, including notable riders such as Abigail Gray in the Junior team and Harrison Ashton in the Under 25 category. The decision to omit the Pony team reflects a strategic emphasis on long-term athlete development rather than immediate podium success, according to BD International Director Judy Harvey. Six pony pairs were shortlisted but ultimately not selected, as the panel felt the riders were not yet ready for championship-level competition.
