Recently, Shaggy suffered a severe bout of colic, requiring emergency surgery and ongoing rehabilitation, with mounting medical expenses. The center has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for his recovery, emphasizing the deep bond between the horses and the community, viewing them as cherished family members.
