Young showjumper Anya Dewey Clarke, who dominated the 128cm circuit in 2025 by winning all major titles, has continued her impressive form into 2026. Recently, she claimed her first championship of the year at the British Showjumping Winter Championships riding Jewelino, a 12-year-old Dutch-bred gelding previously ridden by Michaela Whitaker. Since beginning their partnership in January, Anya and Jewelino have been undefeated in six shows, including a successful international debut at the CSI1* event in Gassin-St Tropez, where they won three out of four classes.
Anya’s approach to competition is focused and strategic; in the close children-on-horses final at arena UK, she aimed simply for a clear round rather than pushing to win, trusting Jewelino’s stride and fluency. Their synergy has quickly developed, surprising even Anya’s family, who initially saw the ride as a good experience rather than a competitive plan. This promising partnership highlights Anya’s rising talent and adaptability in showjumping, marking her as a rider to watch in the coming seasons.
