Broadcaster Angela Rippon has featured in a new national TV advert filmed on Dartmoor to support The Mare and Foal Sanctuary, a Devon-based charity that rescues and cares for nearly 600 horses and ponies, many of which have suffered neglect or abuse. The advert, airing on ITV, Sky, and Channel 4 throughout October, was shot at the charity’s Moorland Rescue Facility in Yelverton and highlights recently rescued ponies. Rippon, a patron since 2018 and a lifelong horse lover, expressed her deep commitment to the charity’s mission to improve the lives of these majestic animals and combat cruelty.
The Mare and Foal Sanctuary operates across the South West with multiple sites and also offers equine-assisted wellbeing programs. Rippon shared personal reflections on her bond with horses, particularly her own thoroughbred mare, Katie, emphasizing the peace and freedom they bring. Dawn Vincent, the Sanctuary’s Director of Fundraising and Communications, praised Rippon’s voluntary support, noting that her involvement significantly raises awareness of the charity’s rescue and welfare efforts.
