Horse Illustrated, in partnership with the ASPCA’s Right Horse program, features Dawson City as this week’s adoptable horse. Dawson City is a striking 5-year-old, 16.3-hand Thoroughbred gelding with distinctive white feet and a bold blaze. Retired responsibly from racing and sound, he is friendly and confident, holding the top spot in the pasture’s pecking order. After some rest, he will be evaluated to determine the best future direction for his next chapter.
Dawson City is available through the Horse and Hound Rescue Foundation in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Interested adopters are encouraged to apply to meet this charismatic horse. The ASPCA’s Right Horse program aims to increase horse adoption nationwide by connecting potential adopters with horses like Dawson City through their online platform, www.myrighthorse.org. More information about the initiative can be found at www.aspcarighthorse.org.
