The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is hosting wild horse and burro adoption events at the Florence Wild Horse and Burro Training and Off-Range Corral in Florence, Arizona, on January 9, 23, and 30 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Most animals available are untrained and priced at $125 on a first-come, first-served basis. On January 23, trained animals will be available through an auction starting at 9:30 a.m., with trained burros starting at $500 and horses at $1,000, followed by first-come, first-served availability. All animals have been veterinarian-checked, vaccinated, de-wormed, and tested for diseases.
Interested adopters must be at least 18 years old, have approved facilities, and proper transportation for the animals. Applications can be submitted online via the BLM’s Online Corral or on-site during the events. The BLM collaborates with the Arizona Department of Corrections to offer these adoptions, and visitors must comply with the department’s rules while at the facility located at 17989 E. Butte Avenue, Florence. For more information, potential adopters can contact the BLM or visit their website.
