The 55th National Horse Show will take place on September 13-14 at the Alexander Langer Municipal Park in Città di Castello, Umbria, celebrating equestrian traditions, skills, and social inclusion. The free event features a diverse program including the Fitetrec-Ante Umbria Regional Ranch Sorting Championship, presentations by the Regional Breeders Association, and Paradriving activities for people with intellectual disabilities. Families can enjoy introductory riding experiences, while evenings will be enlivened by live music from the Western Country Band.
Sunday’s highlights include performances by local equestrian centers showcasing themed carousels, Spanish high school riding, and Western riding exhibitions. The renowned free-riding artist Chiara Cutugno will perform, followed by a historical procession and the thrilling Giostra all’anello (ring jousting) tournament, where knights from various city districts compete in a reenactment of Renaissance knightly contests. The winning district will hold the prestigious banner for a year, adding excitement and community pride to the festival.
