4L Arena Hosts Animal Rescue Fundraising Western Games and Celebrates 4-H Equestrian Achievements

Kari Payne, owner of 4L arena, successfully combined fun and fundraising at the third annual Animal Rescue Fundraising and Game Show on July 19, raising nearly $6,000 to support local animal rescue organizations. The funds were primarily donated to the Welfare for Animals Guild Halfway Home Ranch and Center Valley Animal Rescue, with additional contributions to RISE Alliance and Olympic Peninsula Equine Network. Skylar Burgett emerged as the High Point champion, winning a new saddle, and is set to compete at the upcoming Port Angeles Junior rodeo.

The Neon Riders’ 4-H & Open horse show at Clallam County Fairgrounds featured former 4-H students who have become active supporters, including judge Jessica Parks-Welsh, steward Cori Youngblood, and leader Katie Salmon-Newton. The event highlighted the lasting impact of 4-H on participants’ lives, with numerous medal and high point winners recognized across various divisions. The community’s ongoing dedication to 4-H and equestrian activities was celebrated, emphasizing the program’s role in skill development and lifelong involvement.
