The 2026 Tournament of Roses Parade, themed “The Magic in Teamwork,” promises a spectacular New Year’s Day event featuring a diverse lineup of floats, marching bands, equestrian units, and musical performances along a 5.5-mile route in Pasadena. Highlights include the Opening Spectacular with Bishop Briggs, the appearance of the U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber flyover, and grand entries such as the San Francisco Travel Association’s float celebrating the city’s landmarks with over 100,000 flowers, and the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s animated African elephant float. The parade also honors teamwork and community spirit through entries like the Cal Poly Universities’ rainforest-themed float, the Boys & Girls Clubs’ “Kindness is Free” float, and the City of Hope’s tribute to cancer survivors.
The parade features a rich variety of participants, including international marching bands like Japan’s Minō-Jiyū Gakuen “Golden Bears,” community groups such as the Los Angeles Police Department Mounted Platoon, and notable figures like Grand Marshal Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Many floats incorporate intricate floral designs with tens of thousands of flowers and natural materials, showcasing themes from environmental stewardship and cultural heritage to health care and philanthropy. The event culminates with a closing show featuring Grammy-nominated artists and dancers, followed by the 112th Rose Bowl Game between Indiana University and the University of Alabama, linking the floral celebration to college football’s grand tradition.
