With the Angels, a 3-year-old filly trained by Linda Rice, is aiming to extend her winning streak to six consecutive races in an optional-claiming allowance at Aqueduct this Sunday. After nearly a year off, the Omaha Beach filly returned in October with a strong 2 1/2-length victory against open company, showcasing her resilience and talent. Rice noted the filly overcame challenges during that race, and With the Angels will have jockey Jose Lezcano aboard for the upcoming start.
The filly debuted impressively in August 2024 with an 11 1/2-length maiden win at Saratoga and followed with dominant victories in New York-bred stakes at Aqueduct. After a rest and a brief return to training in February that didn’t meet expectations, Rice gave her additional time off, which paid off with her recent success. Owned by a partnership including Winning Move stable and John Oxley, With the Angels was purchased for $350,000 at the OBS 2-year-olds in training sale and is being considered for the Garland of Roses race at Aqueduct in December.
