Developer Aesir Interactive and publisher Mindscape have had great success with their Kickstarter campaign for Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori, surpassing their original funding goal of €60,000 and reaching over €400,000 with just 24 hours remaining. The campaign has unlocked stretch goals including an expanded Mongolian map, cooking mechanics, horse and character customization, and a peaceful mode to cater to different types of players.
The team is grateful for the overwhelming community support and is excited to continue expanding Windstorm with new features. The next stretch goal is set at 410K EUR, but they are confident they can surpass that amount. The game, built in Unreal Engine 5, is set to launch in Early Access on PC in Summer 2025, focusing on horse riding and exploration in 13th century Mongolia.
Windstorm: The Legend of Khiimori will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series S X. Early Access will begin on Steam and Epic Games Store in Summer 2025, with a console release planned for March 2026.
