William T. LeRoyer, Sr.: Beloved Polo Champion, Equestrian Expert, and Family Man Passes at 76

William T. LeRoyer, Sr., a dedicated family man and accomplished polo player, passed away at 76 due to complications from cancer treatment. Raised in West Hartford, Connecticut, he excelled in polo at the University of Connecticut, leading the team to a national championship and earning MVP honors. After graduating with a degree in Animal Sciences, he worked for the USDA, trained polo ponies, coached collegiate teams, and became a professional polo player with a 5-goal rating. Later, he founded Equine Services and became a respected real estate broker on Martha’s Vineyard, where he and his wife Pink raised their family.

Bill was known for his quiet strength, kindness, and devotion to his family, including his wife of 54 years, two children, and five grandchildren. After retiring in 2016, he moved to Ipswich to be near family and enjoyed creating cherished traditions with his grandchildren. He is remembered fondly for his craftsmanship, love of projects, and lasting impact on those around him. A private service will be held, with memorial contributions suggested to CancerCare.org.
