William Shatner Undergoes Shoulder Surgery After Horseback Riding Accident at 94

William Shatner, the 94-year-old actor famed for his role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, recently underwent surgery on his right shoulder following a serious horseback riding accident late last year. Despite his stunt experience, Shatner suffered a significant injury when he fell off his horse during a fast equine skills competition. He described the upcoming procedure as a “reverse” shoulder operation intended to relieve his pain and improve mobility.

This surgery follows other recent health challenges for Shatner, including a hospitalization in September 2025 due to a blood sugar issue, from which he quickly recovered. Despite these setbacks and his advanced age, Shatner remains active, continuing work on projects like History Channel’s The UnXplained and holding the record as the oldest person to travel to space at age 90.
