White Rock Stables, located at 8949 Lanshire Drive, has a rich history dating back to 1948 when Tex Oddson Sr. purchased 14 acres at the base of Flag Pole Hill. The Oddson family operated the stables for many years, offering horse rentals, riding lessons, and horse-drawn wagon hayrides, with facilities that once accommodated up to 45 horses, including 15 pens, three riding arenas, and an open jump field. Although still owned by the Oddson family, the stables are now operated by J. Amelita Facchiano, who incorporates equine science and healing practices into the operation.
Currently, White Rock Stables is one of three active stables in the White Rock Lake area, alongside Rocking M Stables and the Dallas Equestrian Center, continuing the region’s equestrian tradition.
