Haley Jacobs, a ThunderRidge High School graduate from Douglas County, has successfully combined her passion for western fashion and healthcare through her business, Spurrin’ Scrubs. Drawing on her lifelong involvement with 4-H—where she gained experience in agriculture, livestock, and fashion design—Jacobs creates western-inspired scrubs for healthcare workers. After earning a degree in medical laboratory science and working across various healthcare settings during the COVID-19 pandemic, she was inspired to start her own business when she realized she could wear personalized scrubs on contract assignments. Spurrin’ Scrubs offers a range of apparel and accessories, all self-taught and self-funded by Jacobs.
Jacobs remains deeply connected to the 4-H community, volunteering and encouraging young people to pursue their passions and explore diverse career paths. Her business will be showcased as an official vendor at the National Western Stock Show, marking a meaningful full-circle moment that ties her western roots to her professional life. Jacobs emphasizes the importance of following what brings happiness and confidence, a philosophy shaped by her 4-H experiences and varied career journey.
