Alivia Hallas, a 16-year-old soon-to-be junior at Warren Area High School, recently won the Ruby riding class at the 2025 Youth Equestrian Development Association’s National Championship Show in Tennessee, earning a national title and a gold belt buckle. Despite her competitive success, Hallas emphasizes her deep emotional connection with her own horse, Dexter, a 16-year-old thoroughbred she has owned since she was 11. She values the bond they share, describing Dexter as a trusted companion who helps her find peace and manage her emotions.
Hallas has only been showing horses since last year but has quickly risen through the ranks, competing in multiple classes and arenas while preparing to move up a division. She participates in monthly team practices and has won national titles on horses she had never ridden before, showcasing her adaptability and skill. While she plans to continue competing through high school, her passion for Dexter remains timeless, cherishing their unique relationship above all competitive achievements.
