Waneta F. Skinner, 83, of Walkerton, IN, Passes Away

Waneta F. Skinner, age 83, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away on January 19, 2026, at her daughter’s home. Born on September 1, 1942, in Elkhart, Indiana, she was a Wakarusa High School graduate and spent most of her life in the Walkerton area. Waneta married Raymond C. Skinner in 1971, who preceded her in death in 2012. She worked for 38 years at Stockberger Trucking in Plymouth, Indiana, and was an active member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren. Waneta enjoyed family camping trips, bowling in the Plymouth Bowling League, and had a passion for horses, participating in the Marshall County Horse Association and the 4H Drill team.

She is survived by her daughter Monica Wise, stepdaughter Vickie Lutes, two grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, siblings, and many step-grandchildren. Waneta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and several stepchildren. Funeral services will be held on January 26, 2026, at Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, with burial at Yellow Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Elara Caring Hospice in South Bend, Indiana.
