The Washington High School Equestrian Team (WAHSET) hosts exciting equestrian competitions every weekend through April 2026 at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds, featuring student athletes from multiple districts across the state. These events offer a safe, professional venue with indoor arenas and ample space, allowing riders to compete in various disciplines such as gaming, cattle events, and drill team performances. The meets foster teamwork, discipline, and confidence among young equestrians while creating lasting memories and community support, with free admission and parking for spectators.
WAHSET is a nonprofit organization that partners with high schools to provide equestrian sports as an extracurricular activity, including district meets and a state competition each May. The Grays Harbor Fairgrounds hosts over half of WAHSET’s district meets, benefiting the local community through sustained events and drawing families, volunteers, and local businesses together. The schedule varies by district, and the organization encourages checking the WAHSET calendar for details. Additionally, the Grays Harbor Mounted Posse Pro rodeo will be held at the fairgrounds in March 2026, offering more equestrian entertainment.
