Viva Chaleur secured his first win in 36 local starts by taking the lead near the 100m and drawing clear, showcasing his consistent performance on this surface. Macanese Master finished strongly for second after a tough trip from gate eight, maintaining his solid form with multiple wins and placings recently. Noble Deluxe narrowly missed second place, benefiting from a return to a preferred surface and distance, while Double Bingo and Super Guy also delivered respectable efforts despite wide trips and other challenges. Favorite Only U had a disappointing run, hampered by a slow start and poor positioning.
The Racing Incident Report highlighted several issues: Superb Guy and Only U were slow to begin, with Only U requiring a barrier trial and veterinary check before racing again due to a subpar performance. Racingrace was found to have bled from both nostrils and must also pass a trial and vet exam before returning. Other horses like Triumphant Warrior and Double Bingo faced wide, uncovered trips, and Cheer For South struggled to keep pace. Multiple horses, including Viva Chaleur and Macanese Master, were sent for post-race sampling.
