The international sporting event at Vienna’s Schönbrunn Palace will expand in 2026 to include a full-scale dressage competition alongside the Longines Global Champions Tour, running from September 24 to 27. This addition, initiated by Sonja Klima and supported by dressage experts Matthias Alexander Rath and Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff, builds on the successful freestyle dressage performance by Isabell Werth in 2025. The event aims to elevate dressage in Vienna by combining top riders with the palace’s unique setting, while also increasing prize money.
In addition to the sporting expansion, the Lipizzaner horses of the Spanish Riding School will perform during the official opening, adding cultural prestige. However, the enhanced program comes with a significant rise in ticket prices, with standing tickets increasing from €20 to about €37 and seated tickets starting at €75 per day. Tickets are currently available for the four-day event, which will run from Thursday through Sunday.
