Victory for Lottie Fry, a special comeback at Hickstead, and hot weather travel tips for horses

At the Rotterdam CDIO5*, British rider Lottie Fry and her horse Glamourdale led the individual dressage standings with a score of 75.11%, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the upcoming European dressage Championships. The British team is expected to include Lottie, Carl Hester, and Becky Moody, with the final team spot still open among riders like Tom Good, Sadie Smith, and Laura Tomlinson. Meanwhile, Andrew Gould showed promising results at Wellington CDI, and selectors will continue to evaluate performances at the Aachen CHIO event.

In showjumping, Irish rider Trevor Breen made a remarkable comeback at Hickstead, winning the Astore & Sons 1.35m open championship with his horse Kannoon Blue, just a year after suffering a severe neck and back injury. Additionally, with rising temperatures forecasted across parts of England, horse owners are advised to take precautions when traveling with horses, such as avoiding the hottest parts of the day and ensuring ample water supply to keep horses safe and hydrated during transport.
