The University of Tennessee at Martin equestrian team opened their 2025-26 home season with a dominant 15-5 victory over South Dakota State in an Eastern College Athletic Conference meet. The Skyhawks swept all four Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) awards, with Audrey Morris (fences), Kathleen DeGenova (flat), Kailyn Veale (horsemanship), and Claire Carpenter (reining) each earning their first MOP honors. UT Martin riders set numerous career-high scores across all events, contributing to a comprehensive team win that included multiple individual victories and standout performances.

Key highlights included Morris’s career-best 84 points in fences, DeGenova’s 86-point flat performance, Carpenter’s 72.5 points in reining, and Veale’s 75.5 points in horsemanship. The team’s success was marked by strong individual efforts and consistent scoring depth, with 10 riders achieving personal bests. UT Martin will continue their season by hosting No. 2 South Carolina, a fellow National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championship contender, in their next meet.
