The USEA Foundation has received a second $250,000 grant from the Manton Foundation to support the implementation of frangible technology on cross-country eventing courses in the U.S. This technology allows solid fences to collapse safely upon impact, reducing the risk of rotational falls and injuries to horse and rider. Over the past decade, the Foundation has raised nearly $1 million to promote the use of these safety fences, but ongoing funding is needed to replace aging equipment and expand the program.
To sustain this effort, the USEA Foundation is seeking additional matching donations to reach a $500,000 fundraising goal and is also organizing a frangible fundraising event at the upcoming USEA Annual Meeting & Convention in New Orleans. Supporters and potential sponsors are encouraged to contribute or get involved to help maintain and enhance safety standards in the sport. Donations can be made through the USEA Foundation website.
