The USEA Foundation has received a second $250,000 grant from the Manton Foundation to support the implementation of frangible technology on cross-country eventing courses in the U.S. This technology allows solid fences to collapse upon impact, significantly reducing the risk of rotational falls and injuries to horse and rider. Over the past decade, the Foundation has raised nearly $1 million to promote the use of these safety-enhancing fences nationwide.
Despite this generous donation, additional funding is needed to sustain and expand the program, as frangible fences are costly to build and existing equipment is aging. The Foundation aims to raise $500,000 in new funds through public matching donations and is also seeking sponsors for a fundraising event at the upcoming USEA Annual Meeting & Convention. Supporters can contribute or get involved by visiting the USEA Foundation website or contacting their Development Officer.
