The University of Arizona’s Race Track Industry Program will host the 51st Global Symposium on Racing from December 8-10, 2025, at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona. The event, the largest annual racing conference globally with over 575 expected attendees, will focus on critical issues such as decoupling casinos from live racing, computer-assisted wagering (CAW), and the broader challenges facing the sport. Key panels include discussions on reinventing racing’s business model amid policy shifts, the sustainability of CAW, jockey wellness, breeding innovations, and legislative updates, featuring industry leaders and Hall of Fame jockeys.
The symposium aims to address the pressures on the racing industry by exploring regulatory developments, technological advancements, and organizational strategies. Notably, the panel on decoupling—removing the requirement for live racing to maintain gaming licenses—will be publicly streamed for free, highlighting its significance amid concerns over the decline of certain racing sectors in Florida. Additional sessions will cover mental health support for jockeys, breeding incentives, and the growing influence of social media in promoting racing, with comprehensive coverage provided by BloodHorse.
