The Tyler Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a volunteer auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force dedicated to developing youth aged 12 to 21 into future leaders through comprehensive training in leadership, aerospace, emergency services, communications, fitness, ethics, and character development. Since its founding in 1941, CAP has provided vital community services such as search and rescue, disaster relief, and national protection, with over 60,000 members nationwide contributing their time and skills. The cadet program emphasizes integrity, honor, and practical skills including aviation, cybersecurity, and public service, preparing young people to be responsible and capable adults.

Adult volunteers play a crucial role in supporting the cadets and the organization’s mission, finding personal fulfillment and opportunities to learn new skills such as aerial photography and communications.
