Lennilu, an undefeated 2-year-old filly trained by Patrick Biancone, is set to compete in the Group 2 Queen Mary at Royal Ascot after a strong performance in the Royal Palm Juvenile Fillies at Gulfstream Park. With two wins under her belt, including a decisive 3 3/4-length victory on May 10, Biancone expresses confidence in her ability to succeed on the international stage.
The filly, who is owned by a group of investors, will leave for Newmarket on June 10 and is preparing for her race with a recent half-mile workout at Palm Meadows. The Queen Mary, like her previous race, will be contested at five furlongs on turf, showcasing her adaptability and speed.
Biancone also mentioned that stablemate Squire, who finished second in the Royal Palm Juvenile, will not accompany Lennilu to Ascot due to maturity concerns. Squire is taking a break to regroup before returning to training. Both horses are offspring of Leinster, a successful sire known for producing fast progeny.
