The Amiri Stables in Abu Dhabi has launched a pioneering program to enhance the performance of athletes of determination in horse dressage, earning recognition from the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). Two Emirati athletes, Fatima Al Balushi and Wafaa Al Dahmani, have successfully completed their official international FEI classification, positioning them for participation in the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Both athletes, who have disabilities, have undergone intensive training including riding lessons, physiotherapy, mental coaching, and nutrition guidance, and have competed internationally in the UK alongside elite para-equestrian teams.
This initiative aims to empower more Emirati athletes with disabilities by developing their competitive skills and building confidence and resilience, while raising the UAE’s profile in international para-equestrian sports. The program remains open to new participants and seeks sponsors and partners to support its mission, marking a significant step forward in the nation’s Paralympic ambitions.
