The Trumbull County Fair recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new 4H building, replacing the old unsafe structure demolished three years ago. Funded primarily through $685,000 in American Rescue Plan funds and a total of $850,000 secured by the county, the facility features meeting rooms, bathrooms, showers for horse show participants, and a two-story viewing area for judges and announcers. Although the fair officially begins July 8, the building was already used successfully during a recent Dusty Boots show.
The new 4H facility will serve the youth program year-round, providing space for meetings, events, and fundraisers, with plans to add heating for winter use. In addition to the new building, this year’s fair, running July 8-13, will offer expanded attractions including two demo derbies and new shows featuring dinosaurs, live animals, and clowns, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
