The Tri-State rodeo is hosting its 24th Special Kids rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa, on Saturday, an inclusive event open to anyone with a disability. The free event features activities such as supervised horseback riding, a mechanical bull, roping stations, face painting, and a petting zoo. Participants can pre-register starting at 8:30 a.m., with a volunteer meeting at 9:30 a.m. before the rodeo begins at 10 a.m.
Chairwoman Lisa Wood highlighted the community benefit and joy the event brings, especially through horseback riding, which helps participants relax and smile. Attendees are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, and everyone will receive a free t-shirt and lunch for themselves and their families after the rodeo. Volunteers are still needed to help make the event successful.
