Tony Khan, AEW President, has addressed the ongoing discussion about women’s matches main-eventing AEW pay-per-views, acknowledging that while women have yet to headline a PPV in AEW’s history, it is a possibility given the right match, situation, and timing. He highlighted the Women’s World Title match between Toni Storm and Mercedes Mone at All In Texas as a main-event-caliber bout and emphasized that several matches on that card, including those featuring top male and female talent, could have served as main events. Khan stressed that the decision depends on the storyline and rivalry momentum, and he expects women to main event when it makes the most sense.
Despite strong performances and growing prominence of the women’s division, such as Toni Storm’s recent title loss at All Out, AEW has prioritized other matches for main events based on planned narratives and audience anticipation. Khan reaffirmed that women’s main events will happen in the future when the match is the biggest and most anticipated on the card. The next potential opportunity for a women’s main event is at AEW Revolution, scheduled for March 2026 in Los Angeles.
