Todd Phillip Orear, Beloved Horse Breeder from Olpe, Dies at 48

Todd Phillip Orear of rural Olpe passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 48. Born in Emporia on December 28, 1977, he was the son of Phillip D. and Kathleen Orear and a graduate of Olpe High School. Todd was a devoted horse breeder and enthusiast, involved with several equine organizations, and worked for several years at BPE, Inc. He was a member of the Didde Catholic Campus Center, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Olpe Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and step-grandfather, and was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Known for his loving nature and passion for horses, Todd was deeply committed to those around him. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olpe, with memorial contributions suggested to the Olpe Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Fund for Special Olympics and Hetlinger.
