Title: Young Equestrian Nellie Tuddenham Raises $45,000 for KIDS Foundation in Tour d’Horse

Nellie Tuddenham, a 13-year-old horse enthusiast from Buninyong, played a significant role in helping the KIDS Foundation exceed its $1 million fundraising goal during this year’s Tour d’Horse. Riding in memory of her late sister Bella, who passed away shortly after birth, Nellie raised an impressive $45,000 through the support of family and friends. She was one of 100 riders who completed the challenging six-day trek through the Hunter Valley, emphasizing the importance of the cause over the physical challenges of the ride.

This was Nellie’s second participation in the Tour d’Horse, and she expressed her awe at the stunning scenery and the experience of mustering cows, which she found even more enjoyable than her previous ride. Her motivation stemmed from a desire to help other children affected by illness, reflecting her commitment to the KIDS Foundation’s mission. Nellie also has a personal connection to the organization through her grandmother, Susie O’Neill, who is its CEO and founder.

Looking ahead, Nellie is dedicated to continuing her equestrian pursuits, with upcoming showjumping events and aspirations to represent Australia in the Olympics. The Petstock Foundation, which supports the Tour d’Horse, praised Nellie’s achievements and highlighted the collective effort of the community in surpassing the fundraising milestone, reinforcing their commitment to fostering connections between people and animals.
