Title: Western District 4-H Dairy Bowl: Youth Showcase Knowledge and Team Spirit in District Competition

Members of the Western District recently participated in the Western New York District 4-H Dairy Bowl, a quiz competition where teams of four answer questions on topics such as dairy nutrition, milk quality, and herd health. The event is structured into age divisions: juniors (under 14) and seniors (14 and older), allowing youth to engage in educational opportunities related to livestock and food production.

The results showcased strong performances from the Western District teams. The Beginner Team, consisting of Evan Mierzwa, Westyn Bruyer, Eli Vranich, and Matthew Niefergold, secured first place overall, with Mierzwa earning the top individual score. The Junior Team, featuring Tyler Crowell, Esther Heineman, Stephen Vranich, and Jolene Mesch, placed second overall, while the Senior Team, including Hayden Ayers, Larsen Swan, Michellynn Schroeder, and Ashley Youngers, achieved first place overall, with Ayers recognized as the top individual scorer.

These competitions not only highlight the knowledge and skills of young participants but also foster a deeper understanding of the dairy industry and its practices, encouraging youth involvement in agriculture beyond traditional farming experiences.
