At the New York Thoroughbred Breeders’ Awards Ceremony on May 19, “My Mane Squeeze” was honored as the New York-bred Horse of the Year, showcasing an impressive record of 4 wins, 2 seconds, and 1 third in nine starts, earning $860,750. Bred and owned by William “Buck” Butler in partnership with WinStar Farm, the horse also claimed titles for Champion 3-Year-Old Filly and Champion Female Sprinter, with notable victories in the grade 2 Eight Belles and grade 3 Dogwood stakes at Churchill Downs.

William “Buck” Butler received additional accolades as New York Breeder of the Year, while his mare “In Spite of Mama” was named Broodmare of the Year. Butler’s homebred “Rotknee” also earned recognition as Champion Male Sprinter, further highlighting his success in the breeding and racing industry.

The awards were determined by a vote from New York turf writers and analysts, with other notable winners including “Sacrosanct” as Champion 2-Year-Old Male and “Venti Valentine” as Champion Older Dirt Female.
