Moonlit Notion sprinted gate to wire and drew away to score a 2 3/4-length triumph in the $75,000 Coin Collector Stakes on Friday night at Charles Town Races and provided trainer Tim Grams his 1,000th career victory.

The Great Notion colt out of the Fiber Sonde mare Moonlit Song, a homebred for Grams and his wife, Judy, covered the 4 1/2 furlongs for West Virginia-bred 3-year-olds in :52.32 to stay unbeaten in six career starts, including five this year. He has ranked among Charles Town’s leading conditioners several times. Currently, he ranks sixth by wins at the track’s current meet, with 18 thus far this year, and sixth by earnings, with $405,773.
