Title: Landlord H Leased to Dubai as a 2026 Asian Games Contender

Linda Kouwenhoven’s international small tour horse Landlord H has been leased to Dubai as a 2026 Asian Games hopeful.

Landlord H is a 9-year-old KWPN gelding by Dante Weltino out of Rowena (by Balzflug x Rossini). He is bred by F. Haringsma Geerlig.

Acquired by Christa Larmoyeur in 2020 after he was sent to her to be sold, Landlord H has competed up to national medium tour level under her assistant Linda Kouwenhoven. Christa believes him to be the successor to her international GP horses Ovation and Aston Martin.

In 2021, Linda and Landlord were Groningen regional champions at M1 level. In 2023, they competed in the Dutch Indoor Championships at ZZ-Licht level, while in 2024 they tackled small tour level.

Landlord’s international show experience is limited to one CDI, his first in Leeuwarden in October 2024. He scored 66.275% in the Prix St Georges and 67.850% in the Inter I Kur, both for 11th place.

Christa Larmoyeur announced today that Landlord H has been leased to Dubai for Gabrielle Thompson-Zaal to ride.

"Landlord will be leased to Dubai until the Asian Games in Japan in September 2026," said Larmoyeur. "He is already trained up to Grand Prix level but it is still too early to bring him out at that level, hence this gap year. It will be super for Landlord. He will be trained there mainly at Prix St Georges level. In addition, Linda can now focus more on our talented young horses. Of course, Landlord will return home after the Asian Games. He will only be ten years old then and we can continue training him towards a Grand Prix start."

Australian-born Gabrielle Thompson is married to Emirati property developer Mohammed Zaal since 2017. She works out of Al Barari, Dubai, UAE, where former British youth team rider Alexandria Barr is her assistant.

Landlord flies to Dubai on 9 June.

Acquired by Christa Larmoyeur in 2020, Landlord has already achieved regional championships and participated in the Dutch Indoor Championships.

Christa Larmoyeur announced that Landlord H will be ridden by Gabrielle Thompson-Zaal in Dubai, where he will primarily train at the Prix St Georges level until the Asian Games in Japan in September 2026. Although he is trained up to Grand Prix level, Larmoyeur believes this “gap year” will be beneficial for the horse’s development. After the Asian Games, Landlord will return to continue his training.

Gabrielle Thompson, an Australian rider married to Emirati property developer Mohammed Zaal, operates out of Al Barari in Dubai, with assistance from former British youth team rider Alexandria Barr. Landlord is scheduled to fly to Dubai on June 9.
