Fire crews rescued a horse using specialist equipment after it fell over. Smarty, a 27-year-old horse, fell in the yard of a stable in Buckwyns Chase, Billericay, on Saturday afternoon. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said Smarty was lying on the concrete when crews arrived and was being looked after by a vet. Using a winch, they managed to move him safely and help him back onto his feet. Smarty was left in the care of the vet.

Fire crews successfully rescued a 27-year-old horse named Smarty after he fell in the yard of a stable in Buckwyns Chase, Billericay. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, and when the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service arrived, Smarty was lying on the concrete and being attended to by a veterinarian.

Using specialized equipment, including a winch, the fire crews were able to safely lift Smarty and help him regain his footing. The operation was executed with care to ensure the horse’s safety during the rescue.

After the successful recovery, Smarty was left in the care of the vet for further monitoring and care.
