*Title: "Cross Country Day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials: A Thrilling 5 Challenge Awaits"**

It’s time to tighten your bootstraps and double-check your heart meds: cross country day at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials has arrived, and it promises to be a proper 5* test from start to finish. The first rider sets out at 6:00 a.m. ET / 11:00 a.m. BST, and you can catch every thrilling moment of it via the ClipMyHorse.TV live stream.

Course designer Eric Winter has once again delivered a masterclass in modern course design philosophy, drawing on a year of “philosophy walks,” build tweaks, and brush fluffing to produce a course that’s every bit as beautiful as it is challenging. Expect a bold trip to the Lake early on, stamina tests aplenty, and a whopping 6847 meters of intense decision-making, all packed into a track that Eric openly describes as “designed for sunshine.”

It’s fast ground — but not too fast, thanks to five weeks of careful watering — and with nearly twelve minutes on the clock, riders will need to ration their gallop, ride smart, and hope their horses are feeling as game as they are.

Get the kettle on, settle in, and follow along with EN’s live blog and full coverage throughout the day — it’s going to be a wild ride.

Without friends, the sport is a lot more lonely. Listen in to some lifelong friends recounting their tales at Badminton earlier this week.

The MARS Badminton Horse Trials kicked off with an exciting cross-country day, featuring a challenging course designed by Eric Winter. Starting at 6:00 a.m. ET, the event promises a rigorous test for riders, with a course that spans 6847 meters and includes various obstacles, such as a bold trip to the Lake. Winter’s design philosophy emphasizes beauty and challenge, ensuring that riders must make strategic decisions throughout the course.

The ground conditions are fast but have been carefully managed with five weeks of watering, allowing for an intense yet safe experience. Riders will have nearly twelve minutes to navigate the course, requiring them to balance speed with smart riding to ensure their horses perform at their best.

For those unable to attend, the event is being live-streamed on ClipMyHorse.TV, and coverage will be available through EN’s live blog. This year’s trials are set to be a thrilling spectacle for equestrian enthusiasts.
